Who are you?
We are filmmakers. Our names are Helen Bolter and Sebastian Solberg. Before starting this film we had been working on commercials, television series, feature films, music videos and other short films. We are all passionate about films and filmmaking and we know how lucky we are to be doing what we love!
How did you come up with this idea?
Sebastian Solberg, the director of Levity, was sitting at home on the side of the couch and tipped back slightly, almost falling. At that sudden moment, he wondered what it would be like to not to be affected by gravity? Over a period of a year, Sebastian developed the script, he then asked two talented script-writers, Roanne Bardsley and Erline O’Donovan to come on board and write the script with him. As a team, they channelled Roanne’s writing talent, Sebastian’s quirky ideas and Erline’s ability to develop and refine characters, into an original and imaginative script. This script promises to blossom into a captivating and charming short-film.
Why should we advertise our business on the Levity website?
This is a fantastic business opportunity for any company. By advertising on the site (£100), you can share in the project’s success and watch your own web traffic grow. To see how it works click here.
How do you know Levity is going to cost fifteen thousand pounds to make?
By budgeting our expenses and costs such as props, equipment and food we worked out that the film from pre-production all the way through to post-production is going to cost fifteen thousands pounds. By taking advantage of contacts and favours, we are confident that this amount will be a sufficient amount to make the film.
Will I receive profits by investing in Levity?
Unfortunately not. Short films don’t have a track record for making money. Instead they are a way for filmmakers to spread their vision throughout the world and help them gain recognition to make a full length feature film. When will you start filming?
We will be filming Levity early 2012.
What’s the most I can give to the film?
There is no limit. The more you give to this film the closer it gets to being made. The more you donate, the more rewards you will get. Click here to see the list of rewards that you will receive depending on how much you invest.
Where does the money go?
When you contribute money to this film, the money goes directly into our secure bank account and is not touched until the full production budget is fulfilled. Every single pence will be spent on the film’s production and only the film’s production.
Can I get actively involved in the film’s production?
Yes please! Without the help, love and favours of our supporters, this project will not be possible. If you would like to offer your services, please don’t hesitate to contact us. If you want to submit your ideas and opinions just email us at: Levitythefilm@gmail.com
What if you don’t ever raise enough money?
If the worst comes to worst and we never raise the full budget, everyone will be 100% refunded. No questions asked.
Having invested in the film how can I keep up to date with how the film is going?
As this project is both ours we have decided to keep the progress of Levity as open to you as possible. Through our blogs, facebook, twitter and youtube page we will regularly keep you up to date with whats happening and how the exciting and epic filmmaking progress is going.
What’s the movie about?
Levity is a quirky (live action) short film in which Ari (12 years old) was born with a unique ability. He could float; the laws of gravity did not seem to apply to him. As it is his biggest insecurity, Ari goes to great lengths to make himself appear normal. But however hard he tries he cannot seem to control his gift. As an outcast and victim to the peers that bully him, the film focuses on Ari’s journey to prove to his classmates that it is ok to be different.
